Gran canaria

A home where the interior space merges with the exterior.

This single-family home is located in Alfaz del Pi, Alicante. Located on a corner plot, facing southeast, it has panoramic views of the Serra Gelada.

The house is implanted in the land through differentiated modules, carefully arranged to maximize the use of the plot and its exterior spaces. This arrangement allows the creation of patios between the modules, generating a feeling of openness and connection with the surrounding environment. The terraces are cleverly integrated between the rooms of the home, facilitating a fluid transition between inside and outside.

These terraces are materialized differently throughout the project, allowing them to adapt to the needs of every season of the year. Some of these terraces are covered, while others are partially closed through wooden pergolas. These pergolas allow air circulation and filter the entry of light.

With respect to the materiality of the home, the exterior of the ground floor is projected to be covered with natural stone, generating a large plinth that delimits and marks this level. This coating reaches the line of the carpentry exteriors, generating a continuous line that is repeated on all the facades and is reinterpreted in the design of the interior of the home.

The treatment of the outdoor space is designed following the floor plan configuration of the home itself. Are used different treatments that generate paved terraces combined with green spaces and gravel areas. The morphology of the pool, adapts to these geometries in plan, allowing a rest space perpendicular to the pool. from the pool.

The ground floor of this home houses the spaces of the day area, all of them connected with terraces. exteriors located to the southeast. The living room is conceived as a double-height space, visually connected to the dining room, that generates an intermediate space between the living room and the kitchen.

On this level, there are also two bedrooms. The guest room is close to the main entrance and to the communications core, to preserve the privacy of the rest of the home. The main room is facing towards the southwest, taking advantage of the afternoon light and generating a private terrace differentiated from the terraces typical of the common zones.

On the first floor, there is a third room with an en-suite bathroom. The rest of the space is used as a solarium terrace.

In the interior design of the home, materials with neutral and warm colors are used. All wood from the project It is made of natural oak, both in the exterior elements such as lattices, and in the rest of the carpentry and paneling of the project.

The lighting of the exterior space, as well as the interior of the home, has been carefully measured, allowing that through small light sources and the use of recesses and indirect lights, different environments are generated.
